Hotel Riu Palace Pacifico

WOW!! We made our fourth visit to the Pacifico and what an amazing stay. This is the first time we had been back since the remodel. Here are some of our favorite things about the resort and its changes. 1. THE FOOD!!! We did a ten night stay and had planned on eating off property at least two nights. That never happened because the food was so good at all the resort restaurants. On site there are six places to choose from to eat at in the evening. We only ate at the buffet, Mexican and Italian restaurants twice and the steakhouse three times! **EVERYTHING** we ate at restaurants was phenomenal. When you go to the steakhouse try and sit where Adan can serve you, he was nice and helped teach us some Spanish. When you go to the breakfast/lunch buffet make sure and sit in Samuel's area. He is always smiling, helpful, whistling and singing. 2. The property is big, but also very easy to navigate. There are three pools, a big pool, swim-up bar and activities pool. My only complaint was how warm the pool water was, but I don't know if the resort can do anything about that or not in the dead of summer! There are servers who do a great job of coming around and getting your drink orders if you're not in the swim up bar. Adriana was an amazing server, and always kept our drinks filled. 3. The room is big and kept very clean. We were in room 5036 which is in the short part of the U layout of the building. Diana Elizabeth was the lady in charge of cleaning our room and she was very sweet and did a great job. Our view was very nice and we really enjoyed having coffee delivered to our room each morning, then sit out on the balcony to watch the waves. In July, that was about the only time of day we could handle the heat and humidity on the balcony. Our favorite changes: -The coffee shop in the lobby. I would get a morning cup of deliciousness as well as in the evening. You can also grab a sweet treat or light sandwich during the day. -The lobby bar was a great place to stop and have a drink or two before you went to supper or on the way in from the pool for the day. -Now there is food service at the pool area. You can get tacos, burgers, hot dogs, fries, bbq ribs, wings, etc. This was where we ate lunch 90% of the time. -Now the resort is adults only which is how we like to vaca. Here's a few things to know that we learned during our vacation: Elite Club: For an upcharge you can be upgraded to the elite club. We chose not to do it because it was going to be hundreds of dollars more. If you do get it there is an exclusive bar, restaurant, and beach cabanas for your use only. It just wasn't worth it to us. However, during peak season this might be a good idea, because I think you can get quicker and easier access to all restaurants. Since it was not peak time we never had an issue getting in to eat somewhere. The only restaurant you needed a reservation for was the steakhouse and usually we had to make it the day before. The Riu App is the easiest way to make your visit easier and better. We used it for room service in the morning, to let someone know when drinks in our room needed restocked, to make reservations for the steakhouse, to see the day's entertainment schedule, etc. However, the app didn't always work all the time, so be patient. I enjoy reading on my kindle during vacation. What I found out is for some reason kindles will not connect to wifi at the resort. The person at the front desk told me it is a problem they have not been able to get resolved. So, download any books you want to read before you get to the resort. In summary, you will *not* be disappointed by staying here. We are hoping to go back next year and bring some friends with us!!!

First time here and definitely enjoyed the time to relax. Very clean and updated. Only thing we would like to see since this is an adult resort is, 1. Pool open till about 10pm 2. More adult night entertainment Otherwise this resort is beautiful.
