Both modern and lively with its 1,5 kms. long beach of fine sand, Cala Millor in the north-east of the island is a superb holiday destination. Sun umbrellas and loungers are on hire.
If you fancy a stroll there are lots of shops and boutiques to browse in, and cafés to have a quiet drink and watch street life pass by. Almost like clockwork, at sunset the bars begin to come alive and by midnight the disco bars and discothèques are in full swing. Two of the top excursions are the visit to the caves of Drac in Porto Cristo, which house the largest stalactites in Europe, and the island's safari park where you can observe animals brought from Africa. And don't forget to visit the Son Servera market on Fridays. Also recommended are bicycle trips and walks to nearby Punta Amer.
Sports galore: you can hire bicycles, go horse riding, ten-pin bowling, have a game of tennis, go scuba-diving or parasailing or water-skiing. Golfers can enjoy the new 18-hole course at Pula (approx 7 kms.), on the Costa de los Pinos, or the 9-hole Club Son Servera only 6 kms. away (some hotels offer a 50% discount; check hotel leaflets).
