This region, located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, in the north of Costa Rica, surprises with its enormous, heavenly beaches. This world-famous enclave amongst surfers is ideal for practising all kinds of water sports, including diving or fishing. The interior of the province, by contrast, offers tourists the chance to visit incredibly beautiful natural parks, crowned by majestic volcanoes and ancient caverns. Annexed to the country in 1824 after its independence from Nicaragua, one of the great attractions of the province of Guanacaste – apart from its beautiful beaches – is that of enjoying its tradition, expressed through the delicious regional cuisine or the typical dances. A mosaic of customs and landscapes, Guanacaste is the perfect place for travellers who want their holiday to be an unforgettable memory. |
