The island of Mallorca stands out for the beauty of its environment. During your visit you'll see places that will take your breath away, like the mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Visit some of its villages, like Deià, Valldemossa, and Soller, places where numerous artists have lived and found inspiration. Near these charming towns you'll find incredible places, like the Sa Foradada scenic overlook, the Castell d’Alaró castle and the Miramar Monastery. Keep in mind that all these places have tiny hidden beaches and coves that we recommend you visit to cool off in their crystalline waters, like Sa Calobra, located in the area of Escorca. If you like hiking, don't hesitate to walk one of the multiple routes that pass through these mountains and take you to lovely scenic spots. In Mallorca you'll have the chance to take excursions to incredible natural areas like Sa Dragonera, a tiny island off the west coast of the island that is part of an amazing nature park; and Cabrera, the tiniest of the Balearic Islands, inhabited only by a military detachment for maintenance of this extraordinary national park. We also recommend you visit one of the main tourist attractions, located in Port Cristo: the Cuevas del Drach. In these amazing caves, you'll find countless stalactites and stalagmites, and Lago Martel, an underground lake considered one of the largest in the world.

And you can't leave Mallorca without seeing Palma, considered one of the cities with the best quality of life in the world. Start by exploring its incredible cathedral and charming old town, where you'll see stately old homes with their exquisite courtyards and stone floors. Right next to it is the Parc de la Mar, where you can stroll and stop to have a drink in one of its terraces. You can also visit the fabulous La Almudaina Palace, the official residence of the King of Spain on the island, which opens its doors to the public, or extend your walk to the area around the Plaza Mayor and the surrounding commercial district, where you'll find both small shops selling craft items and major international brands.

Balearic gastronomy

They say the Mediterranean diet is the best, and in Mallorca you'll be able to enjoy it with typical ingredients of the island that will introduce you to new flavours. If you visit the island, we recommend you try trampó, a fresh vegetable salad; tumbet, made with garden vegetables and potatoes and accompanied by meat or fish; Mallorcan soups, based on vegetables and bread; snails, prepared with aromatic herbs; and pa amb oli, a very popular snack that consists of slices of peasant bread served with fresh tomato, oil and salt and accompanied by cured meats and cheeses made on the islands. And, you mustn't forget to try the quintessential products of the Balearic Islands: sobrasada, a cured pork sausage; and ensaimadas, a spiral-shaped sweet bread that can have many different fillings.
