Isla Canela - Huelva

On the border with Portugal, but still in Spain, is the peninsular called Isla Canela, with 7 kms. of beaches of fine white sand, navigable canals and a micro-climate that provides it with unique fauna and flora. Ayamonte, a pretty market town with shops and restaurants is 5 kms. away. From here you can cross the border into the Portuguese Algarve over the Guadiana river by motorway or the more traditional ferry.
