RIU’s Delightful Pair Of All-Inclusive Lanzarote Hotels
Volcanoes are a fundamental part of Lanzarote's history. To them it owes its existence and a blooming tourism industry which the government and inhabitants strive to control so as not to lose its legendary charm. The craters and lava flows form unique, ocher-colored landscapes which contrast with the different blue tones of its marvelous beaches. However, in Lanzarote there is much more to do and see. Do not hesitate to take advantage of you vacation to get to know its fantastic natural and cultural legacy, enjoy the activities it offers and try its delicious gastronomy. The following is a suggested plan for you to enjoy the island to the fullest in just 3 days.
Day 1: Lanzarote's Best Beaches
When you get to Lanzarote the very first thing we recommend you do is to disconnect from your day-to-day life and enjoy one of its beaches. If you stay at ClubHotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote Resort we recommend you take this time to get to know the nearby Los Pocillos beach or Blanca beach, where you can relax on a beach chair or enjoy one of its recreational activities. If you intend to scuba dive, surf or sail, this is the perfect time to discover where to rent the necessary equipment. To round out your day of relaxation, the best option is to get to know some of Lanzarote's culture and traditions after a light and unhurried lunch. A good choice would be to pay a visit to the Casa Museo - Monumento al Campesino located right next to the island's geographic center. This museum explains Lanzarote's typical architecture and has a great collection of old tools and traditional craft workshops. If you prefer, take a trip to the Tanit Ethnographic Museum, which explains island traditions before the arrival of tourism. To complete your leisurely day, you can head to the Plaza de El Varadero, in Puerto del Carmen, an area known for its lively terraces where you can sip a delicious cocktail. If the night beckons, you can continue on to Avenida de las Playas, known for its nightclubs which are open until dawn.
Day 2: The Volcano Trail and Excursions through Lanzarote
After a relaxing day, now is the time to take an excursion to Timanfaya National Park. You should not leave the island without seeing it! It is a spectacular volcanic area full of marvelous natural sites. Contact the Visitors Center to take the volcano trail, which allows you to enter the area and traverse the narrow road which winds through its most significant areas together with an organized guide service. Remember it can be quite hot! Here you can take advantage of the earth's natural heat and cook typical Canary Island recipes. When you leave, head towards the southern end of the park, towards the renowned Janubio salt mines where you will marvel at the landscape created by the convergence of the work of man and nature. Or, if you prefer, pay a visit to the fantastic coves of Papagayo beach, the jewel of the beaches of Lanzarote. End your day wandering through Arrecife, the island's capital where you can use the opportunity to buy a souvenir from the Canary Islands, dine on classic papas arrugás con mojo, Canary Island potatoes with a traditional dipping sauce, and, if you like, have fun making the most of the wide range of nightlife it offers.
Day 3: Sports and Nature
If you enjoy nautical sports, you are in the right place. Lanzarote offers experts and beginners the opportunity to surf, windsurf and kitesurf, as well as scuba dive through its splendid underwater landscapes. Enjoy the sea this morning! If sports are not your thing, take a boat ride. You can choose between taking a ride on a sailboat, catamaran or motorboat, and decide if you want to try to spot cetaceans or you would rather go fishing. In the afternoon, we suggest you visit the northern portion of the island, take a stroll through the fishing village of Orzola, get to know its views and go to the Mirador del Río, to enjoy its magnificent views of La Graciosa Island and the La Corona volcano. To complete the day, we recommend you try the Canary Island cuisine at the ClubHotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote Resort and, afterwards, spend a pleasant end to your day enjoying its evening program.
