To get them involved as actors in our entertainment programmes rather than mere spectators? From the many different varieties over the ages, there is a time and a place for each of them. To enjoy myself with friends, however, I especially like disco and nightclub music. In fact, my favourite hobby is enjoying the get-togethers at which I <strong>get to take control as the DJ<\/strong>, and it is from this passion that the <strong>Riu Pool Party<\/strong> emerged. We wanted to go one step further with the entertainment offering in our hotels and provide an event which makes our guests the protagonists. I took advantage of the construction of the <strong>Riu <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/en\/hotel\/mexico\/los-cabos\/hotel-riu-palace-baja-california\/index.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Palace Baja California<\/a><\/strong> and the expansion of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/en\/hotel\/mexico\/los-cabos\/hotel-riu-santa-fe\/index.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong> Riu Santa Fe<\/strong><\/a> to improve the offer for children with a new <strong>RiuLand<\/strong> Kiddies\u2019 club and the <strong>Splash<\/strong> water park as well as bringing to fruition the idea of having the <strong>Riu Pool Party<\/strong> in a destination.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/jungle-party-riu-animator.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10406 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/jungle-party-riu-animator.jpg\" alt=\"Jungle-inspired animation at the Riu Pool Party\" width=\"800\" height=\"532\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/jungle-party-riu-animator.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/jungle-party-riu-animator-250x166.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/jungle-party-riu-animator-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/jungle-party-riu-animator-700x466.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/jungle-party-riu-animator-120x80.jpg 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The result has exceeded our expectations. The clientele we welcome in Los Cabos, especially from the East Coast of the United States, Canada and Mexico itself, has embraced the concept and take advantage of it various times during their stay. At every party you can see anything from groups of friends on a stag or hen party, joking around and partying hard, through to couples in their 50s and 60s having the best time they\u2019ve had in decades, dancing away to the major hits of the 70s and 80s along with classic disco music.<\/p>\n<h3>The RIU Complex of Punta Cana<\/h3>\n<p align=\"justify\">Los Cabos was the baptism of fire following on from Punta Cana. There we have a complex of five hotels where we have been working on a wholesale refurbishment, one after the other, for seven years.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">This time taking advantage of the<a href=\"\/blog?p=8400\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> <strong>renovation of the Riu Palace Punta Cana<\/strong><\/a>, we chose a site close to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/en\/hotel\/dominican-republic\/punta-cana\/clubhotel-riu-bambu\/index.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Riu Bambu<\/strong><\/a> for the convenience of all the guests accommodated in the complex. We replicated the concept with the required facilities and equipment and from the end of last year we have been seeing how our customers bring the same intensity and fantastic atmosphere to the party as they do in <strong>Los Cabos.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Animator-riu-pool-party-costume.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10394 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Animator-riu-pool-party-costume.jpg\" alt=\"The Riu Pool Party takes place in two schedules: afternoon and evening sessions.\" width=\"800\" height=\"520\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Animator-riu-pool-party-costume.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Animator-riu-pool-party-costume-250x163.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Animator-riu-pool-party-costume-768x499.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Animator-riu-pool-party-costume-700x455.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Animator-riu-pool-party-costume-120x78.jpg 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>To what extent is this concept created by Luis Riu going to evolve?<\/h2>\n<p>Thanks to this success we are already thinking about the <strong>next destinations in which we could offer the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/riu-party\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Riu Pool Party<\/a><\/strong> and we have drawn up a list for its development. There are, however, some places where it is not possible to create the new infrastructure, which involves constructing a pool, stage, etc. That is why we are looking for <strong>hotels with large open spaces and settings<\/strong> that could serve to bring together guests from various different at the parties.<\/p>\n<p>We went through the baptism of fire at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/en\/hotel\/mexico\/playa-del-carmen\/clubhotel-riu-tequila\/index.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Riu Tequila de Playa del Carmen<\/strong><\/a> and the success was overwhelming. Every week the parties succeed in attracting huge numbers of our <strong>guests from the six hotels we have in Playacar<\/strong>.
