This is the time of the year where nostalgia and memories invade us, we try to analyse everything that has happened during this long journey, try to hold on to each moment so that it does not go away, and long for its return. It also triggers a period of reflection. We have the typical conversations with our family and friends about our goals for the coming year.<\/p>\n

Today we want to share with you a compilation of twelve great moments that we have experienced at RIU Hotels & Resorts<\/a> in 2023. We are going to summarise these twelve months in just twelve moments. Will you join us?<\/p>\n

    1. 25th anniversary party Mexico<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Every beginning has an end, and in this case the year began in style with the celebration party to mark the end of the 25th anniversary of the hotel chain’s landing in Mexico. The event was held at Riu Plaza Guadalajara<\/a> and was an evening that will stay with us for a long time.<\/p>\n

        1. Completion of the first Dual Training course at Riu Playa Park<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          In the winter of 2022, the training department launched the first Dual Vocational Training program for bar and restaurant staff at the Riu Playa Park hotel<\/a> in Palma de Mallorca. Several of the students who completed the course are today our colleagues, working in the different establishments that the company has in the area. One of them is Daniel Da Souza, who told us his story<\/a> a few months ago and you will be fascinated!<\/p>\n

            1. The Riu Parties hit Spain<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Known worldwide for their carnivals, the Canary Islands have had the tremendous luck to become the first spot in Spain to hold the Riu Party<\/a>. The Riu Buenavista<\/a> hosts both the White Party and Neon Parties, on alternate Fridays. The light and colour spectacles delight all the guests.                 1. New event spaces in the space web<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  Over the past year, new spaces have been added to the digital version of the Riu Plaza Espa\u00f1a<\/a> hotel, including the hotel’s meeting rooms, so that visitors can see an in-situ view of how the events that are held every day are set up.<\/p>\n

                    1. The first Casa Hogar is opened in the Canary Islands for children with oncological illnesses<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                      Casa Pipa is the first Casa Hogar in the Canary Islands for children with oncological diseases and will host both children and their families throughout their treatment. This is a Peque\u00f1o Valiente Foundation project that RIU is very proud to support.<\/p>\n

                        1. RIU receives several awards<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                          Booking, HolidayCheck and British Airways are some of the organisations that this year have given awards to various establishments in the hotel chain. Moreover, one of the awards that excited us the most was the one that our colleague Abel L\u00f3pez, from the Riu Plaza Espa\u00f1a hotel, received as Best Ma\u00eetre d’H\u00f4tel 2023. A distinction that reinforces the importance and strength of people for RIU.<\/p>\n

                            1. First hotel opens in the UK<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                              Another of this year’s milestones was the opening of the Riu Plaza London Victoria<\/a> at the end of July, the chain’s first establishment in the British Isles. This new four-star hotel with 435 rooms is located in Westminster, in the heart of the city, and is the perfect starting point for visiting London. We had the opportunity to speak to Inigo Berastain<\/a>, the hotel’s manager, who told us what these first months of this exciting adventure have been like.<\/p>\n

The Riu Palace Kukulkan<\/a> was the first hotel to offer this innovative service, which is now also available at other Palace hotels like the Riu Palace Macao<\/a>, Riu Palace Pacifico<\/a>, Riu Palace Jamaica<\/a> and Riu Palace Baja California<\/a>. She was awarded the distinction of Honorary Hotelier for her contribution to the development of the hotel chain. We would like to extend our most sincere congratulations and deep admiration to her as a source of inspiration for everyone.<\/p>\n
