Our collaboration with Tent puts this commitment into action through employment opportunities in Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Quintana Roo, including Canc\u00fan\u2019s Hotel Zone and Costa Mujeres, RIU works with Tent and institutional partners to support recruitment, workplace training and administrative or migration-related procedures. The programme spans kitchens, security, cleaning, maintenance, gardening and reception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2021, <strong>217 refugees and migrants<\/strong> have participated in the programme; <strong>28 people<\/strong> are currently active in it. The latest local report also records an indirect employment impact of <strong>295 people<\/strong>. Participants have come primarily from <strong>Cuba, Haiti, Honduras, Guatemala and Venezuela<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Opening Doors to Employment&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Katiuska Espinosa Ginarte, who arrived from Cuba, the opportunity began with a kitchen assistant role at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/en\/hotel\/mexico\/cancun\/hotel-riu-caribe?gclsrc=aw.ds&amp;gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=10120293096&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQjwlsfWBhD4ARIsACL7p1FKyfTeGOIVESynG5xbV1u6qby0vZVOFq229A1emwXNZLqMugw4siAaAllvEALw_wcB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hotel Riu Caribe<\/a> despite having no previous experience in the field. Training and support helped her learn on the job. She later moved to the Public Areas department at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/en\/hotel\/mexico\/cancun\/hotel-riu-ventura?gclsrc=aw.ds&amp;gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=10120293096&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQjwlsfWBhD4ARIsACL7p1F_uHfFiapZvwxpO8sLqRqFBeOtDV1R049CAPJMhNlSD9cVdVc8rVIaAla1EALw_wcB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hotel Riu Ventura<\/a>, continuing to develop her skills in a different operational setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<strong><em>They gave me the opportunity to start as a kitchen assistant without any experience.
