Jos\u00e9 Chocano Tirado, 59 years of age, is a C\u00e1diz native who holds the position of First Kitchen Chef at our hotel in Chiclana.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_20180412_183131.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"465\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5745\" src=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_20180412_183131-700x465.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_20180412_183131.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_20180412_183131-250x166.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_20180412_183131-120x80.jpg 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI started at the Riu Monica, in Nerja, 14 years ago. Then I moved to the Riu Belplaya\u2014which in 2017 was merged with the Riu Costa Lago to form the Hotel Riu Costa del Sol\u2014and, in 2011, I came to Chiclana. It was a great change, since now I&#8217;m closer to my family\u201d. Jos\u00e9 has been managing the kitchen of the Hotel Riu Chiclana for seven years and stresses that the \u201cformality and seriousness towards employees and resources for doing the work\u201d makes everything flow much more smoothly.<\/p>\n<p>For him, the \u201cgood relationship\u201d that exists between the employees and the \u201cpleasant atmosphere\u201d they create \u201cworking together every day\u201d are also important. The collaboration of the purchasing department, \u201cvery well organised\u201d according to Jos\u00e9, is key to providing \u201chigh-quality ingredients for us to work with\u201d. The sum of all these elements described by Jos\u00e9 is why he considers RIU \u201cthe best hotel company I&#8217;ve ever worked for\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG-20180525-WA0004.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"465\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5746\" src=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG-20180525-WA0004-700x465.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG-20180525-WA0004.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG-20180525-WA0004-250x166.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.riu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG-20180525-WA0004-120x80.jpg 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the newly renovated Hotel Riu Chiclana, Jos\u00e9 shows us some of the delicacies served in the restaurants at our hotel in Novo Sancti Petri. \u201cOxtail stew\u201d is typical of the region, a dish that our guests find exquisite\u201d. Like the shrimp omelette, another of \u201cour local specialities\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Yet another indication of the quality of the hotel&#8217;s gastronomic offer is what Jos\u00e9, with pride, relates: \u201call the breads and rolls we serve our guests are prepared by us\u201d. We accompany Jos\u00e9 one morning and see how, in effect, the kitchen employees preparing bread and sweet rolls next to an oven that gets fired up \u201cat 6:30 in the morning\u201d so that \u201cour guests can enjoy freshly baked rolls at breakfast\u201d.
