Si bien en tu casa puedes prepararlo cociendo las patatas enteras y servirlas con sal, el plato original se elabora con patatas con <strong>Denominaci\u00f3n de Origen canario<\/strong>. El <strong>mojo rojo<\/strong>, el m\u00e1s conocido, se elabora con ajo, pimientas piconas, comino, piment\u00f3n, aceite, vinagre y sal. De hecho era la base de la dieta ya en la <strong>\u00e9poca de los guanches<\/strong>, los abor\u00edgenes canarios. Es una masa elaborada a base de trigo y cebada que se suele comer escaldado, con caldo de pescado o de carne. Es perfecto para afrontar un d\u00eda de excursi\u00f3n para descubrir la naturaleza canaria. Es uno de esos platos que se puede elaborar al gusto de cada uno, pero como base incluye alg\u00fan tipo de legumbre, como por ejemplo garbanzos, adem\u00e1s de fideos, verdura, la carne que quieras a\u00f1adir y, por supuesto, patatas. Se elaboran como las tortitas tradicionales, con huevo y harina, simplemente a\u00f1ade el pl\u00e1tano machacado.
