Falésia Beach in 3 Days: Stunningly beautiful beaches surround our Falesia Hotel Resorts
A reddish colored cliff hides Falésia beach, a splendid 8 km long beach located in the Algarve. Its golden sand and unclouded water invite you to relax and take part in a wide variety of activities. Apart from beautiful beaches, the Algarve coast also boasts spectacular cliffs and unbeatable sunsets.
Although many think otherwise, this region is so much more than sun and beaches. The interior has a smattering of white towns whose architecture evokes five centuries of Arab presence. Many continue to maintain traditions which have remained unaltered in the face of tourism and, therefore, agriculture and craftwork continue to be part of their daily life.
Golf lovers will find top-level courses and the attraction of Portuguese gastronomy, which is simple but extremely flavorful.
Day 1 The Best Beaches of the Algarve
Whether you arrive in the morning or the afternoon, we recommend your first activity be a walk to the lively Falésia beach, which is located just minutes from the hotel. Here you will come into contact for the first time with the vast sandy beach the shores of which are lapped by turquoise waters and you can get an idea of the various areas, those which are most peaceful and those which offer the most services. You will notice that it is the ideal place for practicing water sports such as windsurfing. Are you up for giving it a try?
Another option is to head to Olhos de Água beach to discover the peculiar phenomenon for which it is named, fresh water springs which flow between the most visible rocks but also on the beach and to the sea itself. You will be able to explore the old fishing village which surrounds it and which has become a service center for visitors where you will find businesses and restaurants.
In the evening, you will find your best option nearby: the ClubHotel Riu Guarana it offers delicious dinners at its buffet restaurant and its theme restaurants, and to complete the night, there are performances or live music every night. In addition, in the summer, you can take advantage of the hotel's lively nightclub which does not charge admission.
Day 2: Charming Towns in the Algarve
Today we suggest you begin your day by the sea. Head towards the nearby Marina de de Vilamoura, where the exclusive and elegant luxury yachts dock and which has established itself as the departure point for boat trips which will take you to see the various islands along the Algarve coast and the Ría Formosa Natural Park. If you prefer something more active, here you can also sign up for various water activities such as scuba diving, recreational fishing or jet skiing. Upon your return, you have the option of trying some Portuguese gastronomy such as a wonderful seafood cataplana.
In the afternoon, make the most of your trip to Vilamoura and get to know some of its cultural attractions such as the Cerro da Vila archaeological center which has on display the remains of various civilizations who established themselves in the area over the centuries. You can also pay a visit to the nearby city of Loulé, known for its crafts, surrounded by copper, esparto and ceramic workshops. However, if you prefer golf, you are in the right place. Do not miss the opportunity to practice at one of the two fantastic courses in town.
Day 3 The Best Routes through the Algarve
You cannot leave the Algarve without exploring the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, an area which has been protected to preserve the incredible beauty of its scenery famous for its sheer cliffs. The area is inhabited by many species of birds which make their home in the local marshes and lagoons and has abundant and varied flora among which you can find native plant species. Exploring trails on horseback, in all-terrain vehicles, in quad bikes and hiking are some of the area's most popular activities. Do not forget to make a trip to Sagres, where the Cabo de São Vicente is located and admire its spectacular views. If you have the opportunity, stay a while and watch one of the most beautiful sunsets you have ever seen from its famous lighthouse.
If you prefer an excursion which will take you to a beautiful medieval town, your destinations should be the capital of the Algarve, Faro, and more specifically its old city, where you can stroll through cobblestone streets by plazas and cafes, visit its castle, walk along its walls and see the astonishingly sinister Ossos Chapel, inside the church of Carmo, built with the bones and skulls of monks. Do not miss the opportunity to visit the Plaza de la Catedral where you can see the Episcopal Palace and the seminary, three emblematic buildings. Behind the seminary you will find the Arco da Vila.
