"Don’t stay on this part of the property"
I stayed at the reggae for a week now I’m the kind of traveler that like to hangout in my room during downtime. My room was 1129 I was facing a fence but I can also see a part of the ocean which was nice. There people walking the border line of the property asking people for stuff beer, water WiFi you name it he’s begging for it. I brought it to the front desk because he was literally outside my room trying to talk to some girl for at least 4 hours and got nowhere. The staff seemed pretty use to this complaint and asked if I wanna change room. No I do not first of all why is there no security walking the perimeter knowing this man be out there every morning and every night. So it you wanna avoid this stay off that line so you can enjoy your balcony in piece like I couldn’t. Not only is he begging his trying to talk to females the girl next to me was only 19 and he was trying to talk to her. Then on my other side he’s yelling in the morning trying to get a female attention while I’m trying to sleep it was early o clock and I gotta hear this noise.
"Great resort, but clothing went missing from our room — no resolution"
We stayed at RIU Reggae in Montego Bay from August 17–24, 2026, and overall had a great time — until clothing went missing from our room on our second-to-last night. On the evening of 08/23, we returned from events on the property to find that several items of clothing were missing. Nothing was misplaced or left elsewhere — they were gone from where we'd left them. The frustrating part was that when we reported this to staff right away, the response felt more like a formality than a real investigation. To file an official police report, we were told we'd need to travel several miles off property—with no safe or reasonable way to get there, we didn't feel comfortable making that trip, especially at night in a country we don't know. As of writing this review, we have not received any resolution or compensation, despite filing a complaint, calling corporate, and everything else we were instructed to do. For a resort at this price point, we expected a more serious response to a guest reporting stolen property. Advice to guests: be careful of what you leave in the room and account for everything.

Due to this close proximity, the estimated transfer period is typically less than 10 minutes, allowing you to begin your vacation almost immediately upon arrival.

Guests staying at Hotel Riu Reggae enjoy easy access to iconic Jamaican experiences. Nearby highlights include the vibrant Hip Strip in Montego Bay, the historic Rose Hall Great House, and the beautiful Martha Brae River for rafting. Additionally, the famous Doctor’s Cave Beach and various catamaran cruises offer unforgettable ways to explore the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Guests can also enjoy nearby activities such as golf (10 km away) or horse riding (2 km away) for an authentic Jamaican experience.

The best time to visit Riu Reggae is generally from December to April, which offers the most pleasant weather for enjoying our beachfront location. While the winter months are peak season, providing a lively atmosphere, visiting during the shoulder months of May and June or November often provides a slightly more tranquil experience while still maintaining excellent weather for your All Inclusive by RIU getaway.

Riu Reggae is situated in the Mahoe Bay area of Montego Bay. The primary perk of this location is its exclusive beachfront setting, offering a serene, private atmosphere while remaining exceptionally close to the airport and the local attractions of Montego Bay.
