Currency exchange service: due to the new laws enacted by the Mexican government, we hereby inform you that we will not be able to accept cash payment for stays or services in dollars. The new legislation also prohibits reception from exchanging dollars for pesos. This new legislation will not affect transactions carried out in other currencies.

 

Student group (Spring Breaker) policies: Student/Spring Breaker* groups (over 21 years old) are only admitted at the following hotels: Hotel Riu Santa Fe, Hotel Riu Cancun, Hotel Riu Caribe, Hotel Riu Latino and Hotel Riu Republica. Reservations must be requested and will be reviewed by the sales department of the corresponding destination. Each student/Spring Breaker group request will be reviewed and quoted on a case-by-case basis. Quoted rates may be higher than current FIT/Group rates. RIU Hotels & Resorts reserves the right of admission and may request the client's passport or official document for identification. Guests who cause disturbances to other guests may be evicted from the property. Room parties are not allowed. During their stay, Spring Breakers must comply with the safety protocols established by both the hotel and the Government. Regarding RIU's responsibility in these cases: RIU Hotels & Resorts is in no way responsible for the consequences and/or claims that may arise due to the rejection of unauthorized Spring Break students arriving at RIU property. RIU Hotels & Resorts reserves the right of admission and will take the necessary measures to safeguard the all-inclusive leisure experience that it prides itself on and that our mutual clients expect. We consider it our obligation to protect such clients against undisciplined, unsafe, unhealthy, dangerous, noisy, unpleasant or otherwise potentially harmful behavior. RIU Hotels & Resorts has a zero-tolerance policy on this matter.

* Spring Breaker: School-aged to college-aged people who vacation in traditional or FIT groups to celebrate their spring break. Any group or individual with these characteristics arriving at any RIU hotel not on the list above will not be admitted to the property without a refund. Please note that RIU Hotels & Resorts will use all means at its disposal to identify and cancel suspected student or Spring Break groups. Partners should refrain from quoting Riu properties for groups that they suspect may be young people traveling together for such purposes.
