Hotel Riu Palace Baja California

Cassandra made our check-in super easy. She was so polite and helpful. We were fortunate to get to meet Karla the Public Relations manager and she is wonderful. She's so friendly and a real asset to Riu Palace Baja California Our room was in a great location with a wonderful view. We could see the rocks from the room. We did enjoy the Elite Club benefits at this resort. The restaurant has a very good fillet and shrimp meal. We also ate at the steakhouse 2 times. The buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good too. Angel in the Elite Club bar was always ready to make the best margaritas. Victor at the Tropicana bar was a fantastic Bloody Mary maker. Both bartenders greeted us with smiles and remembered what we liked. This was our 3rd time at the Baja and enjoyed all aspects of the resort. We were pleased with the water temperature of all the pools, cool and refreshing. We enjoyed the chicken tacos at Pepe's, some days there was bacon to include with the tacos. My husband walked 20 minutes toward the marina for a great massage at the Sand Bar. We would both highly recommend this resort, we will be back!

During my recent stay at the Riu Palace Baja California, I was able to enjoy a vacation with quite a few highlights, although also with clear areas of opportunity that the property should address to maintain the brand's standard. ​To start with the positives, the gastronomic proposal exceeds expectations. The selection of à la carte restaurants and the main buffet stand out for their excellent quality, the freshness of their ingredients, and a wide variety of international options for all tastes at every meal. ​Likewise, it is essential to consider the hotel's concept before booking: the general atmosphere is strongly focused on fun and partying. It is an ideal option for group trips, young couples, or people looking for a vibrant and active atmosphere during most of the day. ​On the other hand, the aspect that requires urgent attention is the maintenance and interior design of the rooms. The facilities feel worn out and need a remodel to be up to the Palace category standard. In particular, the electrical infrastructure presents notable issues, as several outlets failed continuously or did not hold chargers well, which is frustrating nowadays. ​In summary: A resort with a great atmosphere, guaranteed partying, and excellent-level gastronomy, but where the rooms and electrical maintenance details fall short compared to the overall experience.
