Hotel Riu Palace Pacifico

I stayed here from October 2 -9th. And it was on the disappointing side. Cons: When we arrived October 2nd and checked in and got to our room, we noticed that the one pillowcase had blood stains on it, as well as blood by the toilet paper holder. There was also hair on the shower walls. Later on in the week after they cleaned our room the one day they left a dirty cleaning rag in the sink and used kleenex was left on the floor by them. The king size Bed was SUPER soft. Pools - October 2nd the main lounge pool was closed due to someone puking in the pool. The rest of the time it was good, but pool temperature was really warm and hard to cool off. Bathrooms- not enough bathrooms Pros: Steakhouse and Mexican restaurants are amazing. Buffet lines were not that long Beach is really nice, lots of lounge chairs available. Can go for really long walks on the beach which is nice. This was my first time staying at a RIU and it will be the last time.

I'm not one to usually complain but our recent stay at RIU palace Pacifico was nowhere near a 5 star resort . This was the 8th RIU that we've stayed at in Mexico so we aren't new to staying with them. First of all we had a room on the 5th floor and quite often found the elevators to be out of order . In our room the Satellite TV didn't work for 3 days. Also the smart TV was terrible for streaming anything. As for the Restaurants the buffet left little to be desired with little choices. As for the themed Restaurants we only were able to eat at the Steakhouse and the Italian ( which were fine ) but the other ones were closed for multiple days so we never got to try them. There was very limited entertainment by the pool and the shows at night were not very good. We stayed at the Pacifico during Hurricane Simon , which wasn't the hotels fault but they were totally unprepared for something like that. We were given a bagged breakfast for one morning which was an assortment of random junk and no utensils. Pools were out of order for consecutive days even though the hurricane never came to the resort .
