Hotel Riu Arecas 4*

Just got home from a fabulous fortnight at the cleanest hotel I’ve been to this is our second visit it was even better the food is amazing and something for every taste swimming pools are just nice temperatures for a cool down dip entertainment on a night is pretty good every person that works in hotel has a smile on their faces I would like to mention two people who made our holiday even better Barbara our cleaner in room 3098 was amazing she is a credit to the hotel and Salvo at the bar another great employee always had a bit chat and a joke made the night fly over beer was good as well I will be back again soon lovely hotel

Very quiet hotel for those who need to recharge their batteries. No daytime entertainment apart from a small water aerobics session once during the week. Live music in the evening until 10:30 p.m. The lively area with bars, restaurants, and shops is located about a 1.5 km walk along the coast. What we liked: - Pleasant room with a large 180 cm bed equipped with a comfortable mattress, blackout curtains, large shower with water at a stable temperature, spacious terrace with a nice view of the sea despite the buildings since the hotel is a bit set back. - Careful daily cleaning (around 8 a.m. so remember the "do not disturb" sign for those who get up late), towels changed every day and sheets upon request. - Very polite staff, often smiling, many get by in several languages including French. - Lots of choices at breakfast even if everything is not of high quality. Great variety at the evening meal, even the permanent salad and raw vegetable buffet changes depending on the day. Several different meats and fish offered each time, eight vegetarian options every day, in addition to the side dishes and salads. All the dishes were always well-stocked and hot. - Two large pleasant pools at the hotel level with almost warm water this season + a large sandy beach with the third pool at sea level, too bad the old lounge chairs downstairs are so uncomfortable and that there are no "real" umbrellas that can be adjusted as needed. What we liked less: - Lack of pressure in the shower (difficult to rinse hair). - Non-potable water in the room! - No slippers. - No shelves to store clothes in the closet. - Poor soundproofing, you can hear the music very loudly during the evening show or the neighbors talking on the balcony. - A huge number of spots available at any time at the "beach" level, but unfortunately at the main pools, all the lounge chairs are reserved by selfish guests who are away for a good part of the day (and sometimes even take two lounge chairs per person to have a spot in the sun and one in the shade or to put their belongings) without anyone intervening despite the ban on reserving them. A little info on the location: wherever you go for a walk, along the sea or in the small perpendicular streets, there are slopes (sometimes very steep) and stairs everywhere.
