"Tikida gardens Rui Tui Blue. A lovely hotel."
We visited as a family of 4 on July 10th 2026. We went for two weeks. Two adults and a 18 and a 17 year old.
Location- there is nothing outside of the hotel directly if you walk out apart from a Macdonalds approx 5 min walk. The rest is waste land and very small convenience shops/residencies. 10 min taxi ride to the souks, loads to see and do there it was incredible. Top tip- get a guide, it’s super busy and the souks are like a maze over 4000 stalls it’s easy to get lost and it can feel overwhelming in the heat go on a cooler day if you can. An amazing must see experience though.
Rooms- were pleasant, cleaned beautifully every day, towels replenished, toilet rolls. No water replaced, you need to ask for more at the bar for your fridge. The rooms had gorgous Moroccan lamps in and had a hairdryer and tea/coffee/kettle/TV. It had a sofa and dressing table. Everything you need. We had a balcony overlooking a pool it was simple but perfect. The only criticism I would have about the room is the beds were very firm, some like this but my back hurt the whole time, too firm for me so I had awful sleep. The maids were always lovely and friendly and did a great job, it was spotless.
Staff- they can’t do enough for you here at Tikida gardens they greet you with a hand shake or hug or high five, look you in the eyes and always have a huge smile, they are so upbeat and have amazing energy even in the heat. Bar staff Hitchim was always full of smiles, energy, lovely jubilees and never had a bad day in the heat he was amazing!! Staff are so friendly, welcoming and kind, that made the holiday for us they were so lovely. They really look after you.
Activities- There was lots to do, walks or run around the unbelievably beautiful gardens, table tennis, hit classes, yoga, aqua aerobics aqua Zumba, water polo, pool volley ball, cooking demonstrations, cocktail making, tennis Moroccan language lessons, darts, boules, you will not be bored. Ahmed the Tui entertainment guy was amazing teaching us Moroccan and teaching us party dances on a night and doing aqua Zumba he had such enthusiasm and his fun outlook was contagious to everyone.
Evening entertainment- apart from the fab staff creating a fun environment the entertainment wasn’t great. The belly dancer was good, the Moroccan night was very loud and crashy and overwhelming we didn’t sit in the bar on that night for the second week. Entertainment and food was on repeat each week. The bar was very smart but the dance floor had the big light on with disco lights if you get what I mean so this reduced the atmosphere.
Food- there was plenty of choice from pizza, fries, meats, fish, salads, soups, tagines vegetables lots of fresh vegetables, but this was on repeat. There was an à la carte restaurant we booked in once it was nice but not much choice we cancelled our second week booking in the à la carte. The food was nice but a few people were unwell, some of the meat looked pink and someone was unwell after eating prawns. Other than staying away from meat and fish our family were fine with stomach issues luckily. The kids enjoyed the food too.
Drinks- the beer was nice, we tried the cocktails they were all good but no slushy strawberry daiquiri, no espresso martini but the ones on offer were very nice. There was plenty of choice for drinks. Can’t complain. Also iced coffees Moroccan mint tea etc throughout the day.
Adult only- this was our first adult only hotel and it did feel more relaxed in the buffet restaurant no children crying or running in front of you trying to get back to your table, it felt really relaxed.
Pools- There were four pools, a quiet pool which was silent you could hear a pin drop, so if you want to chill, read that’s a good pool to hang out. There was a small pool by the bar where people seemed to chat and drink and relax. There was a pool near the hotel entrance that had a jacuzzi where people sat in this and read, it was cool, then there was the main pool which had a fun vibe, music, this is where water activities happened it was more lively and we made lots of friends here as people were chatty around this pool. There is a pool for each mood you may feel on each day.
Recommend- I would recommend this hotel as it was beautiful, we made some amazing memories, I have given an honest review as I like to know what I’m going into. To improve this hotel they could do with padding on the loungers, a softer bed and the food and entertainment could improve slightly. Fantastic hotel for a short break maybe five days to a week would be great here. We would return but not for two weeks it felt a bit long and repetitive but if that was a week it would have felt fine. Pools and surrounding areas are cleaned regularly the staff do a fantastic job!!!
Gardens were so beautiful and perfectly maintained every day. There is a spa and my son booked in and enjoyed his massage which was reasonably priced.
Thanks for reading, have a great time if you pick this really lovely hotel! You will love the staff!
