Hotel Riu Palace Punta Cana

Service was really good. All the people that work there were nice. The food was really good and tasty. All the restaurants have really good food.

Check-in was a breeze. There were a few lines, which is usually expected, especially when multiple flights had landed around the same time. The staff was very courteous and moved us through the lines pretty quickly, getting us checked into our rooms. When we initially stepped into our room, there was a noticeable smell of mold near the entrance of the door. Once we were inside and looked around, everything appeared clean and in place, but the smell was definitely concerning. We opened the closet and discovered a pillow with what appeared to be mold on it at the top of the closet, possibly from a previous water leak that they may not have been aware of. Thankfully, it was an easy fix. We made another trip to the front desk, and the staff was very accommodating. They quickly addressed our concerns and made sure we were moved to a room without any issues.I will say that the property is a little dated, but overall, everything was clean, and we slept very comfortably in our beds. I feel like this resort is perfect for those looking to have a great time and enjoy more of a party vibe. It is a resort for all ages, so families and children are definitely present, but they also host parties at another location within the complex specifically for adults. Noise of the parties was not even noted as we stepped away back to the property. They also had recently added a small casino for those who may want to gamble. Plenty of activities throughout the day, mutiple restaurants onsite and a coffee shop in the lobby area for a cappuccino and a pastry at noon. One thing I really appreciated was the transportation between the resorts. They had golf carts and other transportation running through the property every 10 minutes or so, making it easy to get around. Everything was also within walking distance if you wanted to explore the other RIU resorts nearby. With RIU Republica being the exception, this particular property you would need accomodations to leave out of the complex to visit there. Overall, I would say it’s a good option for travelers who want a fun and affordable resort experience with plenty to do, while understanding that the property itself is a little older and may have some areas that need updating. I will say without further ado before I leave this review, the breakfast was great. And maybe because I'm a breakfast person, but I felt like it was the best meal of the day for it to be an all-inclusive resort buffet. And the service in the buffet dining area was top-notch. They were very accommodating, very attentive, very engaging and entertaining our whole visit. We looked forward to our meals there with Rosie, Linares, and Jose. They really take pride in the work that they do. 100 % on the service for the staff here. They definitely made us feel like we were on vacation. And if I ever visit this resort again, I will definitely make sure to have a seat at their table again.
