We stayed at the Riu Latino for 11 days in mid-August 2026. We had an excellent stay. The hotel is very well maintained. A big thank you to all the gardeners who maintain the gardens daily and to the housekeepers who work hard. We had a room with a sea view and we greatly thank our housekeeper who cleaned our room every day. Nothing was missing and everything was very clean. This lady was also very friendly. Room with a nice bathroom, large TV, bar and stocked minibar; however, the only negative point was the air conditioning, much too noisy. We mentioned it to the front desk and the maintenance technician told us that it was normal. For us, no, such noise preventing you from sleeping and therefore from using it at night is not normal. It would be good, for the future, to review this. The guest is there to rest and not to endure such an inconvenience. Same problem as in the gym. We are athletic and 24 degrees in a gym is way too high. The right temperature is 21 to 22 degrees max. The staff was willing to lower the temperature a bit, but we had to get a manager involved because every time they told us they were going to send someone, but of course no one came. On this point as well, it is a bit disappointing because they make us believe and wait, and it is not very respectful.
Otherwise, a nice little gym, fairly well equipped. The restaurants are very nice. We eat quite well there. Regarding the buffet, it is decent but too repetitive. For our taste, it was missing fruits like strawberries, blueberries. There was rarely mango, sometimes grapes. It is a shame that there isn't that every day. We have stayed at two Riu palaces and these products were definitely present. However, a big negative point, the food is extremely greasy. Everything is cooked in oil, it becomes sickening.
Advice: Try to use less oil or another fat like coconut oil which is much healthier.
The pools are very clean, always well cleaned, there are many lounge chairs and you will find quiet corners there. There is entertainment starting at 10 a.m. at the main pool, however, there are a lot of people in the pools with bars. Otherwise, you have to walk a bit to reach the beach; it would be good to extend the canopy to get there. Many lounge chairs, but the bar service is almost nonexistent or else too slow and the drinks arrive warm or with melted ice. It is a shame, they should think about making a bar near the beach.
The sea is often rough on that side and watch out for seaweed depending on your time of year. If you wish to participate in the Riu Party, everything is well organized. There are free shuttles available that will drop you off either at the Riu Dunamar or at the Riu Caribe, depending on whether it is the afternoon or the evening, but honestly it is great.
There is also a very nice sports bar as well as a nightclub, a souvenir and clothing store. Every evening, there are also shows. The entertainment team is top-notch and works hard to ensure you have a good stay.
Watch out for the outlets in the rooms. If you are coming from Europe, remember to bring adapters.
So, I recommend this resort, there is something for everyone... entertainment, peace and quiet... The welcome at the reception is great. The staff is smiling and attentive.
Do not hesitate to download the Riu app, on which you can order what you need from your room; it works very well.
