Great, we had a fantastic week. Clean, spacious room, large terrace, and the bathroom is all separate, shower tray, television a bit old, fridge and drinks, coffee very good. Restaurants all great, the buffet is huge, there is another one in the pool area that is a bit smaller, and then the specialty restaurants that do not require reservations, which are great, everything is delicious. Hotel staff from reception, dining room, housekeeping staff, entertainers, all very kind and friendly. There is no control over the lounge chairs; there were none available and all were occupied with towels and empty, they should control that, I was there now because there were not many people and I had a lounge chair except for the first day, people go down, put their towel, and leave. Very good entertainment, a foam party one day, lots of games, the entertainers Gustavo, Fernando.......were great and the best part was the Riu Party Neon that is held at the Riu Tequila, it is impressive with a DJ, we had a great time. You can go to the Riu hotels that are there in Playacar and enjoy the facilities. To go to Fifth Avenue, the shopping area, it is about a 40-minute walk; we went by taxi, which is about 7 euros. At the hotel shop, we went to buy a three-prong plug because we thought the television had a USB port for charging, but it is old; he sold us a broken one all day and the phone wouldn't charge, we went back and luckily they exchanged it for us, but at first he said no, I had the receipt and told him I bought it this morning and it doesn't work, it was loose, in the end he exchanged it for us. The entire area of the hotel and Playa del Carmen is safe. The beach is cleaned every day, little sargassum is seen, but the water is brown and smells bad, the sargassum settles at the bottom of the water and hence the color and the smell, a shame because the beach is spectacular.
