"Big and busy hotel, well-situated"
This is a big and busy hotel. Its location is perfect - close to the Plaza Espana, and a short walk to the metro, to numerous bus stops, and to shops and restaurants. The room was a good size and very clean. The staff were very polite and helpful, particularly the concierge who was able to get us a taxi when we had checked out, despite the main street right outside the hotel being closed due to a marathon. Many thanks! However, as it is busy, you can expect to wait for elevators taking you up and down. And at times, when they did eventually arrive, they were already full so we waited longer for the next one. Breakfast is extremely busy (unless you go early in breakfast service). People everywhere. Noisy, Hectic. The staff manage it well but it is not the relaxing way that we usually plan to start our day.
"Nice stay"
Beautiful hotel and rooms are very clean. We booked two rooms and one of the rooms was making a strange sound, but the staff promptly addressed the issue (a filter that needed to be changed). In the second room, the air conditioner was condensing and water dripped on the floor, but it was a minor issues and not worth alerting the staff as we only stayed one night . Rooms seemed well-soundproofed as we didn’t hear any of our neighbors and slept well. Downside was that the pool was ridiculously tiny, much smaller than appeared in the pictures, and full of kids and murky so we unfortunately did not use it (the rooftop pool was the primary reason why we chose the hotel). But the view was stellar and made the stay worthwhile!
