Hotel Riu Palace Punta Cana

We had a very good family experience at the all inclusive RIU Palace Punta Cana. We were traveling with a nine month old and the atmosphere of this resort made that doable. My only complaint was the check in process. We pre checked in on line so we would not have an issue, but that did absolutely nothing. We had requested adjoining rooms and was told that would not be a problem. We had three adults in one room, and two adults and an infant in the other. When we finally got our rooms we learned that they were on completely opposite sides of the hotel. Went back up to the desk and they redid everything. We follow our porter up to the room and go in with the key and realize there are people all ready in the room. So back to the front desk we go. Again with a nine month old in tow. Then we get our third set of rooms and they were right across from each other but not adjoining. At this point we just decided to make this work. We had also requested a crib before check in at the time of the reservation and also at check in. We had to ask four times and finally got a pack and play at nine at night. It should not have been that hard. Only other complaint is that there are not enough convenient bathroom on the property. On a high note, the staff was amazing. Our girl Ruby in the buffet was a joy and went out of her way to accommodate us. Also all the other staff was always helpful.

This property was amazing! The staff were attentive, the facilities were well kept, the food was above average, and the rooms were adequately equipped to our 10 day stay. We made plenty of good connections! The beach and entry was crowded with sargassum which was annoying, but that’s not RIUs fault. The excursion planning staff was also hospitable, and didn’t “sell” us on packages, mainly gave us options for what we were interested in. Overall, it was a great stay!
