Hotel Riu Karamboa 5*

Friends and I had an amazing time. The hotel is immaculate and maintained to an excellent standard. The rooms were always clean and if you weren’t ready for the cleaners they would always return later when asked. Food was good with a wide range of selection. We did avoid las Dunas as on our day of arrival we went in there and the food looked like it had been out a while. But the food in the main buffet restaurant and pepes was always good at lunchtime. The staff were polite and helpful and accommodated us when there was a mix up with our booking at one of the restaurants. It is a very big resort with the pools situated closer towards the beach, so sometimes you have a bit of a walk around to get to things. Entertainment in the evening is mixed. The theme party on Fridays was really good! Shout out to Edy and Kenneth at the front desks who were really helpful and got our sense of humour!

Great value for money. The hotel is very nice. The staff are pleasant. There is always someone cleaning. The hotel is very big with lots of space. The beach is perfect sand. It’s nice to walk along the beach. Plenty of people selling local items but none of them are rude or try to make you buy anything. If you say you have no money it’s not a problem. We saw a couple of the men hand making items out of stone. The prices are very cheap. You only need to spend a few euros with them. We bought a football top for 15 euros. Going in town is only 10 euros each way. Not much in town but worth a little walk around and spend a little money just to help out.
