Hotel Riu Montego Bay 5*

I had a very disappointing experience at the adults-only RIU resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. From the moment I arrived, the customer service was poor. Staff at the front desk, restaurants, and buffet were consistently rude and unwelcoming. To make matters worse, the television in my room stopped working shortly after I arrived and was never repaired during my stay despite reporting it. The biggest issue was housekeeping. On my last night, I checked the bed before going to sleep and found what appeared to be eyelashes on the “freshly changed” sheets, making me question whether they had been changed at all. Later that night, I woke up with intense itching and multiple bite marks. After returning to the United States, my doctor confirmed that the bites were consistent with bed bugs and provided treatment along with documentation. I sent the hotel my doctor’s letter and photos of my bites, but instead of taking my concerns seriously, they dismissed them and suggested I could have been bitten anywhere. I was symptom-free until that last night in the hotel bed. Based on my experience, the poor customer service, lack of cleanliness, and the hotel’s response to a serious concern, I cannot recommend staying at this resort.

We just got back Wednesday and to say we were disappointed is an understatement! Rooms were clean food was pretty good but that is it. Multiple days with out tv(not a big deal till we lay down at night). No room service for food and no pool side service for drinks. I travel quite a bit and never had such little service at an all inclusive resort. Entertainment was nothing but dance parties for the most part. Silver Birds were amazing though! Throughout the week and especially during checkout we were never asked how our stay was,were we enjoying the the resort? The guy at checkout was only concerned with how fast he could get our wrist bands off us. The only person who asked about our stay was the taxi driver. Very disappointing for many reasons. I would stay away from this place.
