Hotel Riu Montego Bay 5*

We just got back Wednesday and to say we were disappointed is an understatement! Rooms were clean food was pretty good but that is it. Multiple days with out tv(not a big deal till we lay down at night). No room service for food and no pool side service for drinks. I travel quite a bit and never had such little service at an all inclusive resort. Entertainment was nothing but dance parties for the most part. Silver Birds were amazing though! Throughout the week and especially during checkout we were never asked how our stay was,were we enjoying the the resort? The guy at checkout was only concerned with how fast he could get our wrist bands off us. The only person who asked about our stay was the taxi driver. Very disappointing for many reasons. I would stay away from this place.

Magnificent hotel, very clean and offering excellent food. The staff is courteous and the facilities are well-maintained. However, cannabis users seem particularly numerous. We even find sellers who circulate by kayak on the beach, and several vacationers smoke almost everywhere, at all hours of the day. For non-users, the constant presence of the smell becomes very unpleasant. Furthermore, since the pools are all located close to each other, it is difficult to find a quiet place to relax. Even at the beach, the atmosphere lacks tranquility due to the music played by the travelers' multiple speakers. In summary, the hotel is superb in many respects, but the lack of quiet and the omnipresent presence of cannabis unfortunately marred our experience. It would be desirable for the hotel to set up clearly identified smoke-free and music-free zones, and to ensure that these spaces are respected in order to offer a more pleasant experience to guests looking for rest and tranquility. Furthermore, the beach is very beautiful and well maintained. However, about 15 feet from the edge, the bottom of the water becomes slimy and muddy in some places, which can be disappointing for those who love swimming in clear water.
