Hotel Riu Ocho Rios 5*

I had an amazing 3-night stay at Riu Ocho Rios, and I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about my experience. The food was amazing, the property was beautiful, well-kept and clean throughout, and the customer service was excellent. The staff were well-trained, friendly and very professional. The beach was definitely one of my favorite parts of the stay—it was absolutely beautiful, and I could have stayed out there every day! The hotel was jam-packed because it was independent weekend, but what impressed me most was that the large crowd did not affect the quality of service or the hotel’s ability to carry out its duties. Everything still ran smoothly, and we had a wonderful experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be visiting Riu Ocho Rios again. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We took a family vacation to Ocho Rios Jamaica and had a wonderful time as a family. Overall the vacation was good. The resort is situated in a great location in Ocho Rios connecting to the main parts of the island and main attractions such as Dunns River Fall and close to city life. The rooms are clean and the premise is also very clean with staff visibly cleaning daily. The food was very good with a variety of selections no matter your preference. The choice in Jamaican dishes that are close to authentic (when compared to other hotels) was the highlight for us. Some meals were excellent, fish soup, bammy and escovitch fish were excellent. Overall the food is the best in variety and different cultural representations. As it relates to the Jamaica dishes, the more authentic the use of Jamaican seasoning and cooking, the better the food tasted. The serving of jerk chicken/pork at the jerk pit was great after a long swim at the beach. The beach was also very good with natural cold water springing up from the bottom of the ocean through the sand. This was unique and fascinating discovery. Overall the vacation was fabulous but as with any place, there is room for improvement. Consequently, the customer service can be improved upon. We travelled with our parents who are elderly and needed urgent servicing in the room. We went to front desk to get service for their room which became a battle (back and forth) to get it done. There was no sense of urgency, “we get it done when we get it done”, which created some tension. However, front desk clerk Oshein stepped in and made arrangements to expedite the process. Lamar housekeeping staff was excellent when he arrived. Front desk clerk Danieca was also patient and good when helping us to solve any issue. Wait staff Twinesha (hope I have the correct spelling) was excellent in serving our large table nightly. The staff at the jerk pit was excellent, working very hard daily to meet the demand for jerk chicken. As such, better customer service with happier staff will improve the overall experience at this resort.
