Hotel Riu Caribe 5*

Excellent service by Azamar at Coral restaurant, Margarita in Housekeeping and Nidia in Guest services. I stayed here while recovering from an operation and they were attentive and accommodating. Thank you! Will be back with the rest of the family!

Let me start with the positives:- Hotel is lovely - grounds are lovely - pools are great - staff were nice and the food and drinks were of very good quality both in the main buffet (which was the same most days) and the speciality restaurants. The mexican restaurant was not good however. You can also get sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs out of the fridge in the sports bar which were not particularly nice but of better quality than the sports bars we have stayed in Riu Hotels in other countries. The Riu Parties were also great and we did attend all of them. The Negatives:- I think maybe it was the positioning of our room as it was on the side on the 9th floor. All I can say if you get a room here do not expect to get much sleep. I am surprised more people have not mentioned the noise - maybe we were just unlucky. I am all for a good time myself or I would not have booked a "Party Hotel" but the disrespect from other guests was quite unbelievable. I don`t blame the hotel as you can`t be responsible for the guests but it be helpful if someone on reception answered the phone at 4 a.m. to save me having to go down to ask for security. Our experience of the noise was not just an isolated incident it was a series of many of our 2 week stay starting first we a couple arguing for over half an hour at 3 a.m. Then a lot of nights people sat outside the sports bar ta 4 a.m. cheering and whooping. One night there was a party on the beach at 4 a.m. with someone with a speaker (this also happened around the adults pool the next day in which we saw the security guard taking a 20$ bung to allow them to continue playing their speaker very loudly although the pool bar was also playing music - this was very annoying and made us leave). Finally 2 nights before we left, our next door neighbours came back at 3 a.m. and put their speaker on very loud and were singing and shouting. Like I say we may have been unlucky I just hope those people with children were not so unlucky. I am very surprised that this is not an adults hotel. All in all we have a really great holiday as fortunately you can snooze on your lounger or have an afternoon nap - if the pool entertainment allows lol
