Hotel Riu Palace Tikida Taghazout

A truly stunning hotel with first class staff made our holiday very special. We had read some dubious reviews before arriving and was a little concerned but the hotel exceeded my expectations and was exceptional value for money for our 11 day break. The food was very good in both the buffet style restaurants and the 3 a la carte restaurants. We used all 3 and even managed a second night in our favourite which was the La Musk morrocan restaurant where the chicken pastillia starter and the tagines were stunning. Booking the restaurants was straight forward through the app was easy although the earlier sittings were filled first we didnt mind a 9pm sitting on occassions.. The evening entertainment was a bit hit or miss at times but the in house entertainment was done with that much vigour and passion by the hotels amazing entainment staff that it was very enjoyable. We were there during the world cup and the main entertainment space was used for this purpose on 3 occasions (2 morrocan games and 1 England game). Indeed one of the highlights was watching Morrocan families singing out loud there national anthem and supporting there team on. The white night show was very good and they crested a great morrocan vibe with passion and energy. Entertainment team around the pool did a fantastic job interacting with guests and created a really good vibe around the place at all times. The pools are amazing and reports of sun bed wars couldnt be further from the truth. We selected different areas on how the mood took us. We never had a problem getting a bed even after for example staying on the beach in the morning or doing a morning excursion. Yes the best slots and best beds can get taken up early but definately no benidorm style scramble for beds. We got up on 2 occasions earlier than normal to secure a day bed at the adult pool area so we could experience everything the hotel has to offer. Reports of cockroaches are way off the mark as i think i saw 4/5 during our stay and the cats and kittens added to the laid back feel to the fantastic grounds and spaced out areas. Tagazhout village was a little disappointing athough a nice walk along the path or beach front and some nice milk shakes with lovely views before returning. Overall the entertainment could be slightly better but cannot put this down to the entertainment team whose shows were as professional as they could make them and filled with energy. Also the cocktails were a bit hit and miss and sometimes far too syruppy for me - 1 or 2 more premium signature cocktails might be option to implement. There was more children at the resort than we had anticipated as it was the morrocan school holidays but the pools are so vast it wasnt an issue as you always have more than enough ample space to chill. Overall the hotel was exceptional value for money which warrants more appreciation than it receives. Yes it could do with a slight tickle up here and there but people have to realise that further improvements ie snack bars. Beach bars would only increase the price band beyond some people reach Stay as you are and keep doing what you are doing Riu Palace as we had a brilliant time at this stunning hotel and thank you for making us feel so welcome.

We had a great stay at Tikida Taghazout Riu Palace. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and always helpful. The facilities were excellent, the room was clean and comfortable, and the food was delicious with plenty of variety. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back.
