Hotel Riu Jambo 4*

Overall decent stay. However a few issues. We arrived at 2PM and our room was not ready. Our AC unit stopped working after our first day. We had water condensation running down the walls. Day 3 night we had weird noise that eventually went away, not sure what it was but seemed to come from the ceiling like something was crawling around. Music was very annoying. I heard Miley Cyrus same song was replayed on repeat about every 20 mins as well as other songs at the bar, particularly the Hakuna Matata bar. Drinks out on the Pier near dinner time the service was terrible, waiting 30+ mins for a drink. The day they did the surveys the service was great, but after that was not good. Every time we had an issue seemed we needed to walk to receptions and discuss directly with them, which was a trek from our room. On our last day we had asked every day if we could get a late checkout as our flight was not until 6PM. We repeatedly were asked to check in on the last day of our stay, and not surprised we were not able to get a late checkout after asking repeatedly.

One of the weakest Riu hotels. Spanish hotel chain and nobody speaks Spanish, not even one TV channel, and the entertainment is as if it did not exist. DJ music and 50s or 60s shows (4 songs on loop) every day. Intransigent about changing the schedules in the slightest (when it's time for something to end, even if there are people waiting to participate, they leave you out and change the activity). They locked our room with our things inside and a letter of apology, due to an alleged breakdown. We found out when going to Reception because the keys wouldn't open it. They moved us to another one at 10 PM where the air conditioning is broken (it doesn't stop and we are at 16 degrees). We gave notice and 30 hours later it hasn't been fixed and there are other guests in our old room./ The first thing they did was charge us the fees and so far no one has compensated us with anything./ the hotel and rooms need a bit of maintenance in general. To all this, add the beach vendors and the lack of friendliness of some of the staff. It has a good beach, sunset views, sun lounger area, and cleanliness.
