"Lovely Hotel in a great location"
Stayed here for 5 nights during the UK Schools May Half Term in a family room for me, my wife and 3 kids (15;14;10). Location was fantastic for us with most key tourist locations within 15 mins walk. Family room was exactly what we booked and expected (we knew it would be cosy for the 5 of us but it's a City Break, after all). If I remember rightly, we were on floor 31 which gave us a nice view over the surrounding buildings and streets. Elevators could take a while even though they were split (think the left side elevators were for floors 1-29 and the right side were 30-whatever the top floor was). We worked out (quite quickly) that if we walked down the stairs to floor 29 and grabbed the elevator there, it was a lot quicker - my assumption was the elevator went to the top and worked its way down (my just be talking nonsense but it definitely was quicker from floor 29). Buffet breakfast was included and it was well worth it, so well organised by the staff to keep any queue moving and to keep the Breakfast area clean, tidy and well stocked - thank you. Was about a 25/30 min walk down to Pier 79 which we did a couple of times and jumped on the St George Ferry, first time was to go past the Statue of Liberty and we got off at the Wall Street stop to wander round (then jumped back on at Battery Park to go back to Pier 79) and the second time we got off at Battery Park and went to the Memorial and the One World Trade Centre Observatory - $29 for 10 rides (there and back for a family of 5 basically) and you get fantastic views of the City when on the river. The Coffee Shop in the Hotel Lobby was a brilliant convenience for a break, quick snack and drink in between or after a long day walking also. We would definitely stay here again.
