Went with my wife and a friend we had a blast, 4th time is DR never had a resort party that hard.Food was good with ample choices. Will no doubt be going back. The only minor setback was the airport ttranfert that took around 55 minutes.

Disgusting and Unacceptable Upkeep—Riu Has Formally Lost My Business I have been a loyal Riu guest for years, but this stay at Riu Republica was an absolute nightmare and an embarrassment. I brought my cousin here for her very first Riu experience, and I am deeply disappointed and ashamed that this is what she had to witness. While the service remains exceptional—the managers, front desk staff, and servers were all wonderfully pleasant—the atrocious cleanliness and lack of maintenance will ensure we never return. Our trip started terribly. The first room we were assigned was completely uncleaned and actively dirty. The beds were visibly used, the couch pillows were a total mess, there was trash left in the bathroom bin, and a wet towel was still hanging up. The bathroom floor was literally soaking wet as if someone had just stepped out of the shower right before we walked in. When we complained and requested a room change, the front desk promised us an "upgrade" to compensate for the massive inconvenience. That was a lie. They put us in the exact same room layout on a different floor. This second room was in desperate need of maintenance, featuring rusted, severely outdated furniture. To make matters worse, on our very last day, we found and killed a live cockroach right in our room. I an happy to post the pictures however will attempt to resolve the issue before doing so. The neglect isn't just limited to the guest rooms either. The elevators smelled absolutely awful for nearly our entire stay. Given that we paid for a clean, sanitary, premium vacation and received a filthy, roach-infested room, we are requesting a financial reimbursement for this highly disruptive experience. Riu Republica is a health hazard and a disgrace to the brand's name. Exceptional customer service cannot mask a filthy, cockroach-infested property. Avoid this resort at all costs until they completely overhaul their housekeeping and maintenance departments.
