Hotel Riu Palace Oasis

I went with my partner to the Riu Palace Oasis hotel in Gran Canaria from August 15 to August 16, 2026, everything was great until approximately 12 pm when we returned to the room from dinner As soon as I opened the door to my room number 2127 there was a cockroach in the hallway, then I went to the bathroom and there was another one in the sink and the last one was in front of the bathroom inside the closet I killed them at 3 and obviously I didn't have time to take photos because my partner was doing terrible I reported it to the front desk and they said they were going to clean the room, it would be the last straw if they didn't do it

We had a one week holiday to celebrate our 48th Wedding Anniversary at this resort recommended by a friend who had many enjoyable holidays here. Everything was absolutely amazing from the time of arrival to the end of our holiday. All the staff at Reception, in the restaurant, housekeeping, in the Spa and everywhere else were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic suite with a balcony facing the sea. The Promenade Buffet Restaurant provided an array of International Cusine with live cooking stations. Although being vegetarians we were able to find enough suitable food to our liking at dinner. The buffet breakfast was really good with lots of choices especially the freshly cut fruits. We did not use any of the two À la carte restaurants because they had very limited vegetarian options. Special thanks to Mr Pablo Santana, the Head of Reception for a very personal and warm welcome and also to David the maître d'hôtel in the Promenade Restaurant who welcomed us every evening at dinner and at breakfast. One very negative feedback is the situation regarding water in the evening for dinner. No water was available, if water was required it had to be purchased at €3.25 for 50cl of mineral water. (All I needed was a small sip of water to take my medication after dinner). Yet at breakfast there was sparkling wine, water, all type of fruit juices, tea and coffee flowing freely. Providing drinking water is a BASIC REQUIREMENT especially during the day when it is very hot. I have stayed in many hotels around the world and there is always a water fountain where drinking water is available freely. This is obviously a policy of the hotel chain and it seems like profit is being put before basic requirements of guests. This policy needs to be reviewed and changed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ [EXCEPT FOR THE WATER SITUATION]
