Discover the newly renovated Hotel Riu Palace Calypso: an Adults Only oasis

21 November, 2025

Fuerteventura, a paradise many of us dream of, has a great new feature that you’ll love! We are very proud to announce the reopening of our beloved Hotel Riu Palace Calypso, located on the famous Jandía beach. This iconic establishment has not only expanded its offering after a complete transformation, but has also been elevated to our brand’s premium tier: RIU Palace.

On top of this, prepare to experience something doubly exclusive, because the Hotel Riu Palace Calypso has been reborn under the Adults Only by RIU concept. This was specially designed to offer you the rest and tranquility you need during your well-deserved holiday.

Experience the magic of Fuerteventura with RIU

An Adults Only paradise with endless views

From the moment you enter, you will notice the substantial change the hotel has undergone. The lobby, now larger and brighter, has been strategically redesigned to maximise two key elements: the ocean views and the natural light. These two elements are now the stars of the show, welcoming you into the hotel and creating a fresh, modern atmosphere that invites you to leave your stress at the door.

Each and every one of the 248 rooms have been renovated to ensure your maximum comfort. And the best thing is that all the room terraces now offer a spectacular view so you can wake up every morning with the Atlantic Ocean at your feet.

In addition to the rest and relaxation areas, we have created new common  chill-out areas exclusive to an Adults Only hotel, including a lounge bar and an outdoor solarium with Balinese beds. The perfect spot to take that selfie of you relaxing or to enjoy one of our fantastic cocktails!

Savour the novelty: Krystal Restaurant

Gastronomy is a central part of the experience at a RIU Palace hotel. As part of this renovation, our culinary offering has been enhanced with a delicious addition that will undoubtedly satisfy even the most discerning palates: Krystal Restaurant. Our prestigious gourmet à la carte space is launching at the Hotel Riu Palace Calypso to offer you unforgettable evening meals.

You will also be able to enjoy the snack bar and main restaurant, now completely refurbished, where you will find our themed buffets and food available 24 hours a day.

A renovation with RIU’s Proudly Committed strategy as the backdrop

In line with our sustainability strategy, Proudly Committed, the renovation of this beachfront hotel features significant energy efficiency improvements throughout the facilities, including the installation of photovoltaic solar panels.

Likewise, all the bathtubs in the rooms have been replaced with showers, and filters have been installed to reduce water flow. The swimming pool now has a saline chlorination system. As well as this, the hotel has improved the accessibility in all common areas and has increased the number of accessibility-adapted rooms to eight.

Exploring Fuerteventura

Being on Jandía beach means you are in a privileged location from which to explore the magic of Fuerteventura. After breakfast with a view, we encourage you to discover the miles of fine white sand that stretch out just steps from the hotel. If you’re an adrenaline junkie, the area’s stable wind is perfect for windsurfing or kitesurfing in its turquoise waters. For anyone who wants to find a little local flavour, the nearby town of Morro Jable is a must-see. In addition to enjoying its maritime charm, you can delight in the authentic Majorera cuisine: try the Designation of Origin Majorero cheese, or savour some fresh local fish, the perfect accompaniment to wrinkled potatoes with mojo sauce.

But Fuerteventura is so much more than just its beaches, it is a land with a unique soul. Declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2009, the island is an ecological jewel that is home to one of the largest expanses of desert and semi-desert habitats in all of Europe. Here, the archipelago’s oldest volcanic land merges with over 100 kilometres of pristine coastline, offering an unparalleled natural spectacle. This commitment to nature is reflected in the Majorero spirit: a culture rooted in the land, which can be seen through its hospitality, its rich local crafts, and traditions that invite you to touch the brakes. If you’re lucky enough to coincide with one of its local festivals or a Baile de Taifas, you’ll be able to hear the infectious rhythms of the Isa and the Folía, traditional dances performed to the sound of the timple, the small five-string Canary Island guitar that is the soul of the island’s folklore.

The Canary Islands, a key destination for RIU Hotels & Resorts

We have a total of 16 hotels in the Canary Islands, seven on the island of Gran Canaria, four on the island of Tenerife, one in Lanzarote and four more on the island of Fuerteventura.

The updating of the Hotel Riu Palace Calypso is the latest in a long list of renovations carried out in recent years that continue to demonstrate our strong commitment to the Canary Islands, our most collaborators.

The Riu Palace Calypso welcomes you with a refreshed, more exclusive spirit. Don’t you want to experience it for yourself?  We’ll be waiting for you!
