"Room allocation"
Arrived at 1:00 this morning. As we are travellig with friends I contacted the hotel to request 2 rooms wich were close to one another about 2 months prior to our arrival. We were given a room on the 3rd floor and our friends a room on lower ground floor, pool level. They could not be futher apart! Booked and paid for a room with balcony or terrace. We were allocated room 322 which had neither balcony or terrace, just a dirty window! Went to reception to complain and was told that no other rooms were available and to go to reception tomorrow to see if anything can be done. I asked why I hadn't been informed that my booking had changed but was not given an answr.I feel very disappointed and although I have srayed here on several occasions I will not be returning. Very weary and deflated guest.
"Wouldn't Go Back"
We stayed for a week from 14th September. The room wasn’t ready when we arrived as we paid extra for the early Ryan Air flights, but no problem, we went for a walk along the promenade for a couple of hours. On our return we were told we had an upgrade…Nice we thought. The room was huge and overlooked the pool and the sea. All was well until Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. As we were at the front of the hotel almost over reception, we could hear all the noise from outside, especially the disco that was on the opposite side of the road and the one under the hotel…BOOM, BOOM, BOOM until 2.00 am all weekend…….it was that loud it was as if we were in the disco..!!!!! If you get offered an upgrade….don’t take it if it’s at the front of the hotel…you have been warned. The mini fridge was only topped up once during our stay – and this wasn’t until after we had been there nearly 3 days - and we spent three days with no coffee, sugar or milk……even though I left a message in my best French asking for some. But we did get a large bottle of water every day. The smell did remind me of Spain back in the 1970’s…but it was everywhere…not just in the hotel. As everyone else has mentioned…the towel wars on sunbeds. You cannot get a sunbed after 7.00am…….we didn’t get one all week. The hotel does absolutely nothing about it, even though there are signs up and daily reminders on the app to not reserve sunbeds. The private beach is much the same, but the man there did remove some towels one afternoon for us that had been there all day with no one using them. The staff are superb, hardworking and mostly smiling. BEST TIP - Give them a tip on your first day and they look after you all week. We did it with waiters and bar staff. We love walking, and the 7km long promenade is lovely…….we walked the full distance down to the Marina…….BUT be prepared, you will be stopped every 10 paces with someone trying to sell you some Tat. Most just walk away when you say no…but some will not take no for an answer. My Big winge: The hotel changed English money into Dirhams on our first day, no problem. The day before we left I tried to change what we had left into Sterling. But was told by the hotel it can only be done at the airport. No problem I thought…I will do that. On arriving at the airport nowhere is there a Bureau De Change…or if there is no one could find it. Plan C we thought, spend it in Duty Free. Nope, Duty Free only take Euros or cards….not their own currency. So we now have £100.00 worth of Dirhams that we cant change anywhere. Much the same as lots of others. (Clever little scam that)
