"Disappointed Due to Location Despite Excellent Hotel"
My partner and I arrived at this hotel on 15th June. We arrived late due to a night flight, but our first impressions were very positive. The hotel was immaculate, very clean, and the staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels were provided daily, which was another positive aspect of our stay. The food was also excellent, and there is no faulting the hotel itself. However, the main issue for us was the location. The following morning, we went out to explore the local area and quickly discovered that it was heavily geared towards German tourists. There were very few places that catered to English-speaking visitors, and most of the bars, entertainment, and atmosphere were centred around German guests.
When I booked this holiday last year, the hotel description did not make this clear. Had I known beforehand, I would not have chosen this location. I always read reviews before booking a package holiday, but I did not see anything that highlighted how heavily the area catered to German tourism. I have nothing against German people, but during our stay we experienced a lot of late-night noise, chanting, and disruption in the early hours of the morning, which repeatedly disturbed our sleep. It was frustrating, especially as we were hoping for a relaxing break away together without our children. Another disappointment was the all-inclusive package. We were surprised to find that alcoholic drinks with meals were limited to three per person and only included beer or wine. This was not something we were expecting and meant we had to spend significantly more money than we had budgeted for. By the second day, we were so disappointed that we considered flying home. We spoke to the TUI representative about moving to another hotel in a different area, and although an alternative near Magaluf was offered, it would have cost us an additional £300 plus administration fees, which we could not afford. As a result, we stayed and ended up walking around 45 minutes each evening to visit the only English bar we could find. While this made the holiday more enjoyable, it was an inconvenience and not what we had expected when booking. Overall, the hotel itself is lovely, with great food, excellent cleanliness, and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the location and lack of information about the surrounding area significantly affected our experience. For that reason, we would not return, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday as a couple, family, or solo traveller. The hotel does not reflect what we expected based on the description provided when booking.
