"Disappointing experience"
On arrival, the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, making a great first impression. Our room was cleaned to a high standard every day, and the restaurant staff were always attentive and friendly throughout our stay.
The food was average overall. Breakfast was lovely every morning with a good selection. However, lunch options were quite limited unless you liked burgers and hot dogs, and the cold buffet mainly consisted of fish. The all-day snack selection was also limited to burgers, hot dogs, nachos, chicken nuggets and chips, with no cold food available during the day.
The evening meals were disappointing, especially considering we stayed for seven days. There was stew every other day, while rice and chicken were served daily, making the menu feel repetitive with very little variety.
The drinks selection was fairly limited, but there was still enough choice for us throughout our stay.
The evening entertainment was also a let-down. There was only one evening that we really enjoyed, and everything finished by 10 pm, which felt quite early. The daytime entertainment was satisfactory and provided enough to keep guests occupied.
The sun loungers are placed extremely close together, which can make the pool area feel crowded. However, it was a nice touch that fresh pool towels were available every day between 9 am and 12 pm.
The communal toilets were cleaned regularly and were always kept to a good standard. On departure, the shower facilities were also very clean, which was a great alternative to paying extra for a late checkout.
Unfortunately, our room key card stopped working several times during the week, meaning we had to return to reception to have it reset. We were repeatedly told it was because we had kept it near our phones, which wasn't the case and became quite frustrating.
The wristbands were also poor quality. We had to have them replaced more than once because they either broke or tightened too much and couldn't be loosened.
When we checked out, the departure felt rather impersonal. Reception simply took our key cards without asking whether we had enjoyed our stay or wishing us a safe journey home, which seemed like a missed opportunity to leave guests with a positive final impression.
On a positive note, the local taxi service was inexpensive, reliable and efficient, making it easy to get around the area.
Overall, the hotel's biggest strengths were its friendly staff, excellent cleanliness and comfortable facilities. However, the repetitive food, limited snack and drink choices, poor evening entertainment and a few avoidable service issues meant the overall experience didn't quite live up to expectations.
