2. Mazatlán: tradition, bands and Malecón

This carnival has a unique characteristic that makes it truly special: the rhythms of the “Banda Sinaloense”. The sound of brass and traditional tambora drums can be heard everywhere, building the atmosphere of the authentic, time-honoured celebration.
The Sunday parade is the main event. Imagine miles of illuminated floats processing along the vast Malecón esplanade, with the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop. It is a visual spectacle where fireworks and confetti take centre stage. The Mazatlán Carnival is also home to the famous “Naval Battle”, a firework display in the bay commemorating the defence of the port and transforming the night sky into a canvas of light.
