RIU Class is the free loyalty programme from RIU Hotels & Resorts. With it, you earn points for every night you spend at a RIU hotel, no matter where you booked. You can redeem them from just 1 point on future bookings or on extra expenses during your stay.
The programme has four tiers: Pre-Classic, Classic, Gold and Diamond. Benefits grow as you add nights: Gold status is reached with 30 nights in 24 months, and Diamond with 60.

How do I sign up for RIU Class?

Joining RIU Class is free and takes less than two minutes:

• Go to the official website or the app: visit the RIU Class section at riu.com or download the RIU App for iOS or Android.
• Fill in the form: enter your first and last name exactly as they appear on your official ID, your email address and your date of birth.
• Get your account number: it arrives instantly, and you can start using it right away.

RIU Tip: if you already have a confirmed booking and aren’t a member yet, sign up before you arrive at the hotel and link the stay to your account. That way, you won’t miss a single point from that trip.

What are the RIU Class tiers and what benefits does each one offer?

When you sign up, you join the Pre-Classic tier, and as soon as you complete your first stay, you move up to Classic. From there, you climb the tiers based on the nights you accumulate over a 24-month period.

Pre-Classic and Classic: what you get from day one

• Points for all your stays and, if you book directly with your account, also for the amount of the booking*.
• Exclusive rates and offers for RIU Class members.
• Direct booking benefits:* savings by redeeming points, free transfers, massages and access to airport VIP lounges.
• Online pre-check-in to speed up your arrival.
• Recovery of past stays up to 12 months after check-out*.

RIU Class Gold: for repeat guests

With 30 nights in 24 months, you earn double points per stay. You also receive a courtesy gift during your visit*, priority room allocation and late check-out*, both subject to availability, plus a 25% discount at RIU Shop.

RIU Class Diamond: the highest tier

With 60 nights in 24 months, you earn triple points and unlock several benefits*:

• Free room upgrade.
• Free early check-in and late check-out.
• A 35% discount at RIU Shop.
• The option to request a room change to Elite Club by RIU, the premium service at RIU Palace hotels.

How do you earn points?

RIU Class gives you two ways to earn points:

• Per night stayed: every night at a RIU hotel earns you points per member and per night*. It makes no difference whether you booked on riu.com, through a travel agency or another channel, who paid, or how much the stay cost.
• By amount, on direct bookings: if you book with your RIU Class account on the website or the app, you also earn points on the total amount of your stay, on top of your points per night*.

You also earn points for your beneficiaries’ nights, that is, your partner and your children. If you travel with family or friends who aren’t beneficiaries, they can become members, have their own points and transfer them between accounts if they wish*.

How and where can I redeem my points?

With RIU Class, points work like money, and you can use them from just 1 point, with no need to wait until you have a large balance:

• On your bookings: when you book from your account on riu.com or in the RIU App, you can apply points to reduce the price. At Gold and Diamond level, redemption can cover up to 100% of the booking.
• During your stay: complete the pre-check-in in “My Bookings” or identify yourself with your account number when you arrive at the hotel*. You’ll then be able to pay with points for extra expenses such as laundry, late check-out or room upgrades, for example to a Swim-Up room with a private pool.

How do I keep track of my points?

We recommend checking your account on riu.com or in the RIU App after each trip, to make sure your stay has been recorded correctly. If one is missing, you can recover it up to 12 months after check-out*.

Also bear in mind the inactivity period. Your RIU Class account doesn’t expire, but your points do if no activity is recorded for four consecutive years*.

Practical examples: how RIU Class works on real trips

A couple with two getaways a year. If every year they travel for a week in summer and 8 nights in winter, they add up 15 nights a year, which means 30 nights in 24 months. At that pace, the account holder reaches Gold status and, from then on, earns double points per stay.

A family booking through their travel agency. Even if they don’t book on riu.com, the account holder earns points for the whole family’s nights (partner and children as beneficiaries), as long as the stay is linked to their account. If they book their next trip directly with their RIU Class account, they’ll also earn points on the amount of the stay*.

A group of friends. Each of them can open their own account and earn points for their nights. If, once back home, one of them wants to pool the balance for their next booking, the others can transfer their points*.

A guest who forgot to give their number. If you didn’t provide your RIU Class account at check-in, those points aren’t lost. You can recover the stay up to 12 months after check-out*.

A small balance at the end of the trip. There’s no need to save it: you can use it at the hotel itself to pay for a late check-out or laundry on your last day.

How can you get more out of RIU Class if you stay with us again?

• Always book while logged in on the website or in the RIU App. It’s the easiest way to secure all the programme’s benefits.
• Plan your nights within the 24-month window. If you’re only a few nights short of Gold or Diamond, extending a stay or adding a short getaway can make all the difference.
• Register your upcoming visits from your account and send your special requests to the hotel before you arrive. When you get there, show your digital RIU Class card.
• Subscribe to the RIU Class newsletter. At RIU, we launch campaigns throughout the year with points to save on your bookings, exclusive discounts, games and prize draws.
