Can you hear that? It’s the sound of love. Just like every year our beloved Cupid comes loaded with arrows to fire on Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is near! You no doubt have many ideas for celebrating this special day with your better half, or with whoever you want! The great John Paul Young sang “love is in the air“, but at RIU Hotels & Resorts we wanted to add a twist to that legendary phrase and propose that love is not only in the air, but can also be found in the city.

What’s the best way to enjoy New York as a couple?

The Big Apple is one of the most frequently depicted metropolises in art, music, literature and film, so it’s only natural that it generates a lot of expectations. But these are unfailingly fulfilled because it always lives up to them! To start with, you’ll be surrounded by skyscrapers, including the iconic Empire State Building. New York is one of those locations that you can visit an infinite number of times and still find new places to explore.

This renowned metropolis has so much to offer. Among the many things to do, you’ll find a wide range of cultural attractions, with museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the MoMA and the Guggenheim. There are also iconic spots such as Central Park, the unmissable lung of the city, which can even be visited by carriage. You can’t leave this place without visiting the Statue of Liberty, the star of postcards and souvenirs, a trip that is sure to surprise your partner, since to get to this monument you have to take a boat from where you can also enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the city.

Times Square, one of the city’s main commercial arteries, is located in the heart of the city centre. It is particularly well known for being the place where thousands of New Yorkers go every December 31st to welcome in the New Year.
