RIU shows you the before and after of Riu Palace Maspalomas

A few days ago we presented the new and completely unrecognisable hotel Riu Palace Maspalomas. This hotel opened its doors after all the facilities had undergone a complete refurbishment. Today we want to show you the incredible renovation of this 5-star establishment situated in a unique location which, now more than ever, does justice to it: the Maspalomas Dunes.

Imagine waking up in the morning, and on top of knowing that you are on holiday, you open the window and are faced with a unique and exclusive view of these famous dunes that everyone loves. And the best thing? It has become an Adults Only hotel where you can enjoy a romantic holiday with your partner or a relaxing break with friends.

This hotel is emblematic of the chain thanks to its elegance and because it was also the first Riu Palace hotel in the world. It is no secret that, as far as RIU is concerned, its architecture, sophistication and location have always been a source of pride for the chain.

Lobby

Natural light now plays a very important role, being the star feature in all the rooms of this luxurious hotel. It greets you on your arrival in the imposing lobby, which has risen to a new height since the refurbishment. You cannot miss the amazing ceiling decoration. It is characterised by curved metal curtains in brown hues, reminiscent of the dunes, accompanied by the sandy shades of the destination. From the moment you walk through the entrance door you will feel the magical sensation of having chosen the perfect place for your holiday!

Bedrooms

After arriving in the lobby and checking in you may wonder what next? The answer is simple, your perfect room is waiting for you! And don’t worry, because no matter which room you choose, you’ll be able to relax to the max in any of the 350 rooms, which have a fresh feel thanks to the combination of light colours. Each and every element of the rooms has been designed to make you feel at home during your holiday in this idyllic hotel. The colour of the walls and the furniture are perfectly harmonious.

Restaurants

When we tell you that the Riu Palace Maspalomas has changed beyond recognition, we are not exaggerating. In addition to the lobby and the bedrooms, you will particularly notice this difference in the restaurant areas, which have had a complete facelift and are now much more modern and elegant. Enjoy the extensive culinary offerings of the Riu Palace Maspalomas in a space that will leave you awestruck. The best of all is that the refurbishment included the addition of a new themed restaurant named “Oasis”.

In the bar and restaurant area, one of the zones that has changed the most is the main restaurant – you won’t recognise it! The space has been expanded and now boasts a balance of warm colours featuring wood and ceramics. You can also go out onto the new terrace and eat under the porch that shelters you from the sun while you enjoy your meal.

Outdoor areas

As you know, in its outdoor area the hotel has two open-air swimming pools. After the remodelling, one of these has been moved so that you can enjoy even more hours of sunshine. And best of all? It has a lounge bar with a chill out terrace from which you can enjoy privileged views of the dunes after your swim, while you sip your favourite cocktail or take in the exclusive panoramic view of the sunset.
