We know how much you’ve been looking forward to the reopening of one of our most iconic and sophisticated hotels in Jamaica, the Riu Palace Tropical Bay, and just a few days ago… it actually happened! As well as updating its services, the property now provides facilities that are much more modern, fresh and elegant. Would you like to see all the changes we’ve made to the Riu Palace Tropical Bay?

The changes made to the hotel are especially noticeable in the lobby, now a much lighter area thanks to the huge picture windows along with an increased sensation of space due to the radical change made in the use of colours and the introduction of a simpler more modern style. Teamed with the resplendent white of the marble floors are the blue tones of the furniture in perfect combination with the beige columns, generating a welcoming sensation of luxury and peacefulness for guests.

The Riu Palace Tropical Bay now has 452 bedrooms in a new style that combines the classic sophistication of the Riu Palace range with furniture that features simple lines and light tones, combined with elements in turquoise blue. All of the bath tubs have been replaced by walk in showers for guest convenience.

Turning to restaurants, all of them have been renovated with a contemporary design in tune with the other areas: the main restaurant, ‘Negril’, continues to offer varied buffets and show cooking; the ‘Krystal’ restaurant serves the best in fusion cuisine; the ‘Rimini’ restaurant provides a wide range of buffet style Italian specialities; you can sample Japanese gastronomy in the ‘Hakuchi’ restaurant; and our pool restaurant will continue operating in the evenings, preparing the classic RIU Steakhouse dishes that we know you love so much.

As for bars, in addition to giving them a complete makeover and offering a 24-hour service in the Lobby Bar and Lounge Bar, we have added a new outlet, the ‘Capuchino’ ice cream parlour and café.

Other new features at the hotel include the incorporation of the Riuland kiddies club into the children’s area, to ensure that youngsters can enjoy their holidays to the full. There is a pool in this area exclusively for them, bigger than the previous one and also a playground. The hotel also boasts three outdoor pools, one of which has a swim-up bar. There is a fully equipped renovated gym as well as a spa area which has also been fully refurbished.

To find out more about these new developments in person, all you have to do is make a booking at the Riu Palace Tropical Bay and come ready to enjoy a unique destination that benefits from the exclusive RIU 24-hour All-Inclusive service. Jamaica awaits you!

    Are there pickleball courts?

    • Riu Hotels

      Hi Larry!

Unfortunately, we haven’t pickleball courts in the hotel, but if you like you can use the tennis court.
