In addition to this sophisticated level of service, it should be noted that in 2016, following an extensive refurbishment, the Riu Palace Las Americas completely renovated its facilities. Notwithstanding, many original elements were maintained such as the spectacular domes that distinguish this ‘palace’ from other hotels, thus preserving the unique essence that sets this property apart along with the glass chandeliers, wooden ornamentation and marble floors.

Following the refurbishment, it became our first Adults Only hotel in Cancún. Since then, it has developed into a firm favourite for couples, with a whole range exclusive services that represent added value: a welcome glass of cava, concierge service, bathrobes and the option to pay for access to a special wine list and a romantic dinner on the beach. Free Wi-Fi is also available throughout the hotel including the pool and beach area and premium brand drinks are available in all of the bars and room dispensers.

Its majestic splendour extends to the gardens and outside areas, where two of the three pools are created in Infinity style, offering spectacular views over the Caribbean. One of them has a hydro-massage area and swim-up bar, rounding off the health and well-being services that also include a sauna, hydro-massage bath and the Wellness Renova Spa. Comfort and relaxation are fully guaranteed at the Riu Palace Las Americas.

While holding on to the aesthetic elements that make this Adults Only hotel unique in Cancún, the renovation is most noticeable in the fresher and more modern style which is as evident in the 372 bedrooms as it is in the public areas of the hotel such as the lobby and restaurants. The use of lighter colours and more modern decoration combines well with more classic and elegant decor features, as can be especially appreciated in the bedrooms.

In terms of gastronomy, as a Riu Palace Las Americas guest you will have the chance to sample the delights of ‘Capuchino’, located in an area of the lobby serving patisserie and ice cream. There is also ‘Lounge 24’, which offers drinks and snacks on a 24-hour basis. The buffet restaurant and terrace areas have also been extended so that you can enjoy lunches and dinners refreshed by the cooling sea breeze.
