How to have fun at RIU with your children

Smiles, fun and lots of magic! These are the three most important ingredients that we use when coming up with holiday activities for your children. One of the most important elements of your stay is the entertainment we provide for you and yours. That is why our entertainment team works day in, day out to offer you an unforgettable experience. Thanks to that, you can enjoy a huge variety of options when you spend your holiday with us accompanied by your children.

If you are looking for somewhere you can relax while the little ones play, Calú, our mascot, is waiting to welcome you to RIU! He’s a best friend to all of the children who visit our hotels. He is our likeable turtle who all our younger guests sing and dance with during their holidays.

As we already mentioned, at RIU we give very careful consideration to the entertainment we offer to the younger guests in our hotels . That’s why, if you are travelling with children and decide to create some time for your own relaxation, then it’s no problem whatsoever. They are going to be fully entertained! Our entertainers and staff will ensure that their holidays will be something to brag about when they go back to school.

This is the result of constant effort, in that our activities have been created exclusively for the chain. Would you like to know more? Let us introduce two clubs aimed at younger age groups:

1. RiuLand

We never overlook the youngest members of the family, and their happiness is one of the things we take most seriously. It is because of this that RiuLand emerged, a club created exclusively for children.

It is a space where the staff looking after your children ensure they are constantly smiling throughout their entire stay. Of course, you too can smile and relax secure in the knowledge they are in good hands.

RiuLand is a space created exclusively for the youngest family members.

We run themed days in this area where, for example, your children can become pirates looking for hidden treasure. An adventure from start to finish! In addition to them enjoying games and challenges and being at the heart of the action, the activities also use a very dynamic method of getting across messages such as the importance of recycling and caring for animals. Thanks to this fantastic space, through RiuLand they will get to learn about the world through having fun.

Our mascot Calú will accompany your children throughout their holidays.

Your children will dance and sing while playing non-stop. Every child returning to our hotels is desperate to meet up again with their friend Calú, who is wont to pop up at any time. Together they will be able to learn dance steps and tunes while being entertained in the areas of our hotels given over to children. Let our mascot’s song become the soundtrack of summer for your children!

Along with Calú they will discover the RiuLand Party, during which the youngsters get up on stage to dance with our mascot while pretending to be pirates or zombies. They will also experience fantastic adventures such as finding the Treasure Chest of Dreams or rescuing Calú.

Your children will become the heroes of Calú’s adventures.

Every day will be full of surprises in this space that has been created with loving care in order for children to have fun and make new friends of their own age. We achieve this by dividing groups and activities into those suitable for 4-7 year-olds and those for 8-12 year-olds.

Do you know where Calú was born? In Cabo Verde, a place where you can find some of our properties such as the hotel Riu Karamboa which, of course, has a Club for children.

As we said before, RiuLand can be found in many more destinations such as the hotel Riu Chiclana because Calú uses his magic to get around to many of our hotels. In Chiclana, thanks to the recent renovation, we have managed to create the ideal setting in which your children can play and forget all about their school commitments. All this is due to the interior children’s playground complete with giant inflatable activity centres, slides and ball pits.

Due to the renovation, the Hotel Riu Chiclana now has a ball pit for children.

Also, many of our hotels have a children’s pool with a Splash facility for them to play in and cool off in summer. A true paradise for children!

2. Riu4U

There is a teenager in our family. What destination should I choose? We know that there comes a time when not all your children have the same tastes, and they start growing up without you even noticing. Don’t worry though, because our last suggestion is going to help you out. We’re talking about Riu4U a space designed for teenagers.

The activities in the Riu4U space are aimed at teenagers.

The entertainment staff running this club will do sporting activities with your children as well as participative games, parties, treasure hunts, etc. An infinite range of activities through which your sons and daughters will also get to meet friends their own age and be entertained!

This concept, designed to create the dynamics of a summer holiday “gang”, is a recent innovation and so far is only available in a few of our hotels:

– Riu Helios Paradise

– Riu Tikida Dunas

– Riu Gran Canaria
